He spent the first day (or, more accurately, late afternoon and night) aboard the USS Northampton and viewed the Fleet exercises. The next day, he first visited the USS Enterprise. Then he arrived at Onslow Beach, North Carolina where he via motorcade went to Point Whiskey. There, in the motorcade, President Kennedy viewed a fly-by demonstration and review of a battalion of Maine troops and equipment.
